First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
Student Clerk
The interview is pretty standard. They want to get to know you and understand what makes you stand out from other students at Iowa. You should know why you want to work at UIHC, why you are interested in healthcare, and what skills you have.
- Why are you interested in healthcare?
Line Cook
It was a really chill and upfront interview process. They were clear about what they needed, and I was honest about my skills and my student schedule, since I didn't have much experience. They seemed interested and sent over a job offer with the pay rate pretty quickly, within two days. I got to meet my direct supervisor and also had more time to chat with my HR contact. They also gave me a tour of the kitchen where I'd be working and introduced me to some of the team.
- Do you have previous cooking experience?
HR Associate
Had an in person interview where we went over some general questions like tell me about yourself, your goals, etc. They also explained the job and listed the salary. Benefits info was emailed later and I had to provide 5 references: two previous supervisors and 3 coworkers or non-supervisors.
- Can you share your experience with me?
Medical Laboratory Technician
it was easy, face-to-face, with two supervisors, and asked 10 questions total, they were kind, friendly, and understanding. after the interview, they reached me via email within 30 days then we did interview again in the lab briefly and they send an offer letter.
- How would you handle a workplace conflict with a colleague?
