I went through a thorough interview process for the Instructor position. It involved several questions about my academic and professional history. They also asked open-ended questions about potential scenarios, which were evaluated carefully. The whole thing took about an hour, and I heard back with good news pretty quickly afterwards.

To apply for the research assistant position, I first had to find a professor whose research aligned with my interests. I reached out to them, shared some of my previous work like publications and current projects, to see if my background was a good match. After that, I formally applied through the university's online portal. The interview itself was mostly about my past research work. We talked about the research I did for my master's publications, my master's thesis, and the courses I'd taken that would be useful for my PhD research. It was a really positive experience overall. The professor and department chair were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in what I'm working on. I think the interview helped both of us figure out if I was a good fit for the professor's research project.

It was a pretty standard process, nothing too complex. They asked me some get-to-know-you questions about my past experience teaching and doing research. They also asked about how I would provide support with resources and ensure a comfortable working environment. They were interested in my qualifications and skills, and I also received training from different departments, like the College of Graduate Studies and the specific college I'd be working for.

The interview was a zoom call with the employer. They asked me about my research and some behavioral/competency questions to check if I would fit in with the group.
