We started with intros and a quick chat about myself. Then, I got hit with some questions. After that, the professor gave me the lowdown on the research project, what it's all about and what they're aiming for. Lastly, I got to ask them stuff about the project and the program.

I went through two interviews for my PhD application. The first was a more casual chat with just the Professor and me. The second one was with the entire committee, including three other consortium members. I was asked a lot of technical questions about my MSc thesis, plus some behavioural ones too. I think the main thing is not necessarily getting every question right, but showing your problem-solving approach in each situation.

I really liked how the interviews went. First, I had a chat with the supervisor I wanted to work with, just to get a feel for things. This happened about a month before a more official interview with the graduate school. Both of these talks were mostly about my understanding of the project and why I wanted to pursue a PhD, and also about my past work.
