It was a straightforward meeting with a manager, two technical team members, and an HR rep. We started with technical stuff, focusing on practical scenarios and choices, and a few direct tech questions. Then, we chatted about my background, experience, and goals. They also asked about how I'd handle certain situations and wanted examples. Afterward, someone else from IT gave me a quick building tour.

It was pretty simple, they asked me scenario-based and competency-based questions to see what I knew about the job and how I'd help users with tech issues.

I applied online and got a Skype interview with one day's notice. I did my best, but I couldn't see the panel members on video, so I was talking to a blank screen, though the sound was clear. I never found out the outcome, and my emails to HR and the hiring manager weren't answered. I know how UK higher education interviews usually work, and they're generally professional. Cambridge fell short this time, and I felt disrespected. It was a shocking post-interview experience.
