The interview process was quite thorough, with a good number of questions designed to gauge my understanding of university services. It was a positive experience overall. The questions touched on different scenarios and behavioral aspects, focusing on assisting students as they adjust to university life.

Behavioral

This was a straightforward remote interview during lockdown. The recruiting staff were chill and created a good positive environment where I could ask questions at the end. The whole process from applying to getting hired took a few months due to lockdown. I enjoyed my time at UoA. A downside is not many career development opportunities. Centre managers, depending on who you are working with, are not the best people to work with some days. Some days the environment is toxic. Some staff are lovely, but some staff are racist and judgemental who still work at the centres.

Technical

I was reached out by a recruiter about a Digital Marketing Manager position in their Online University department. I was keen to interview, but on the call, the interviewer was quite rude. They stated I wasn't a good fit, mentioning the role needed 5-8 years of experience (the job ad said 3-5) and immediately asked technical questions. The interview wrapped up in less than 5 minutes because the interviewer felt it was a 'waste of time'.

It was very chill, I had a one-on-one interview first. Then we had a group interview with about 20 other people, and most of the RM's and RC's were watching. The one-on-one interview questions seemed to be about my values, and the group interview was more of an activity while the RM's and RC's watched how well I collaborate with others.

  • What are your core values?
