& Process

The entire interview process was conducted virtually. I was asked some basic questions about my experience working in schools and my ability to manage data. They also gave me some information about the role. There was a really long delay between my interview and when I actually started working, like over a month.

So a recruiter calls you and asks you some basic questions about why you want this job and asks about your experience. After that, you get sent to another recruiter and do a practice interview. You get feedback then fill out an application then get another practice interview with another recruiter. I was not too happy with wasting my time with these practice interviews only to be told that my 'skill set' was no match apparently at the last minute. That should have been determined by reading the resume before making a phone call and setting up an interview. Hiring managers need to do better planning and stop wasting the candidates time when it comes to experience. If the hiring managers are looking for 'experienced' candidates with 5 years, then contact those people and stop wasting our time!

The process kicked off with a phone call, and then I had an in-person interview about a week later. They told me to get ready for a skills check, which involved some computer programming tests. The interview was with a program manager, a senior person there. They asked mostly about my background and why I was interested in the job.

The interview happened on Zoom, and I also answered some questions over the phone. They asked pretty direct questions about my education, work background, and any experience I have in education. They gave me contact info to follow up via email and answered my extra questions that way.
