The interview was conducted via Skype. They asked me general background questions like why I want a PhD, why their group, and where I saw the advertisement. I was also asked to prepare a PowerPoint presentation about my master's thesis, which I had 10 days to do. They mentioned they would give me a task to solve during the interview, but they didn't bring it up at all, likely because my master's thesis demonstrated my experience in their field. After this, they scheduled another interview where they informed me I was one of two finalists and their favorite candidate, leading to an offer.
