Lecturer Business
The interviewers seemed disinterested and asked only basic questions. It felt like they had already decided I wouldn't be hired before the interview even began. Often, Dutch universities are required to post job openings publicly, but the position is typically already filled. I wish they'd inform candidates beforehand to avoid wasting our time.

- What constitutes business?
Teaching Assistant
You gotta submit your application by the end of April. Then you wait for the interview invitation. The interview is pretty short, lasting up to 30 minutes. The professors are super friendly and kind. You'll hear back about the results in about 1-2 weeks after your interview.

O clima foi amigável, e eu me senti seguro, proativo e me comuniquei bem.
- Could you tell me about your educational background and academic level?
- Where have you worked previously?
- What are your salary expectations?
Educational Specialist
Although I've been here for years, I still have a bad feeling about the hiring process, especially the HR interactions. The application itself was fine, even easy because I knew the interviewers. But from the second round, an HR person was there who asked very aggressive and suspicious questions. I passed round two and then had a call about the terms of employment. They offered a very low salary and no travel expenses. I had to really fight to get anything approved. This person acted like it was a personal battle. Every time I was due for a promotion, she blocked a raise. I've never understood it and think it's outdated. I'm leaving the UvA because of this.
- Why do you think you, as a starter, should get a higher salary than scale 6 step 0 for the role of educational specialist?
