I had a phone screen first. Then, I had a face-to-face interview with two people on a panel. They asked several questions, including some practical examples and some about me.

Two interviewers read questions from a paper, taking turns. They didn't seem very welcoming, no smiles. They asked me technical questions, like 'describe a situation where you had to', even when my experiences didn't fit at all.

Behavioral Presentation

Four weeks from applying, I had my first interview. The HR partner was nice and communicated well. I was not offered the role, and I'm glad. I have over 20 years of commercial experience and was told I should dress more professionally. I wore fitted trousers, a floating top, heels, make-up, and jewellery – something I've worn at work and at events before. The feedback HR got was that I wore cargo pants and a t-shirt. They never asked about my marketing skills or background. The interview was only about influencing difficult stakeholders and leading a team through change (and what I wore). This organisation is old-fashioned and immature, with judgmental and backward leaders. Their values of compassion and respect are just words.

Great process, first a phone interview, then a face to face zoom. Next up was a role play and a typing test, and then finally a support letter. It was challenging, but I felt supported throughout. They really just want to check you are the right fit, which is a great sign for the company.
