Service Desk Analyst
The interview process was really good from start to finish. The managers made me feel relaxed and welcome, which helped with my nerves. It felt more like a chat than a formal interview, making it easier to talk and give good answers. The questions were fair and relevant to the role, not too hard if you have experience or prepared. They asked a mix of technical and scenario questions. Overall, it was well-organized, professional, and supportive. It gave a good impression of the team and work environment, leaving me feeling confident and positive.

Legal Officer
I had an interview with two people from the team for a job I was really interested in. They were both nice and easy to talk to. We had a good conversation, and I felt like it went well. I thought it was a good match for me and the company, so I was a bit surprised not to get an offer. I respect their choice though, and I know I have a lot to offer and I'm still looking for a place that sees that.
- Could you explain what an easement is?
- Define statutory law.
- How would you handle a situation where your ideas were questioned?
Technical Officer
I sent in my application online and then they set up a face to face interview for me. They mentioned I'd hear back about the decision within 1-2 weeks, but I ended up waiting over 2 months without any official word. I ended up reaching out to someone on LinkedIn to see if this waiting period was normal, since the UU recruitment team wasn't getting back to me. I then found out that I wasn't successful. It felt a bit unprofessional, especially coming from such a large company.
- Could you share an example of your competency in a specific area?
- Describe a technical scenario you faced and how you handled it.
- How did you approach a technical challenge?
Project Manager
The process included an online application, online tests, a one-way video interview, and then an assessment centre. At the assessment centre, they first gave a short presentation about the job role and company, and then I had to give a 10-minute presentation on a question they provided earlier. After that, I had to answer 5 competency-based questions. Upon arriving at the assessment centre, with very little guidance on where to go, I was met by a current grad who seemed unsure of the location. After finally locating the room, the interviews felt a bit awkward and not very welcoming. They seemed somewhat unprepared, as if reading the questions from a script for the first time. However, the interview itself was okay, and I felt fairly comfortable. After the interview, I wasn't informed about the next steps or the timeline for a decision. I waited over 3 weeks for a response, following up multiple times without any reply. Then, I received a phone call from a recruitment agency two days before Christmas informing me that I was unsuccessful and providing some feedback. The feedback was positive, but I didn't get the offer because I lacked 'engineering principles.' The application required a STEM degree (which I have), but I have no engineering experience, which should have been evident from my CV and previous stages. This made the whole process feel like a waste of time. Overall, the process was acceptable but lacked organization and clarity, leaving me waiting and uncertain for a long time when the decision seemed to be made quickly.
- Tell me about a time you worked in a team and what skills you learned.
- Could you present a short description of the job role and company?
