The interview process kicked off with a recruiter phone call, followed by a video interview featuring the hiring manager and tech lead. The final stage was an in-person interview with the hiring manager and tech lead. It was a very professional discussion, though the interview setting felt semi-casual. They went over my background, technical skills, goals in life, and passion for learning. They also discussed their expectations for the role and highlighted the company culture and aspects where they invest in employees. The hiring manager, who has been with the company for almost 20 years, was very smart and intuitive, explaining the role and expectations thoroughly. The tech lead demonstrated deep knowledge of their system. Ultimately, the salary offered did not meet my expectations. I would still say this company is consistent and a worthwhile place to work, offering significant career growth opportunities.

It was a long, multi-round process, and they were back and forth on whether to pass on me or move me forward. After the final round, I heard nothing for months until they contacted me again out of the blue. They had more open positions, but I had to interview again with new managers. They asked several of the same standard questions, and it seemed to go well. They did not offer me a job because I lacked any side projects outside my current job.

Customer Service and Warehouse Associate
I went to a job fair for United States Cold Storage for customer service and warehouse jobs. They said to bring a resume, but if you didn't have one, you just filled out an application and got in line to interview. It was one-on-one in a big conference room. It seemed really unprofessional, like, way less professional than other job fairs I've been to. One interviewer was eating, and they all looked miserable. People kept walking in and out, and sometimes employees would just interrupt the recruiters. Nobody was at the door telling people what to do. One HR person yelled out to the new people, “If you already have a resume, then you don't need to fill out an application!” Someone behind me was mad, saying, “I wish they would have told me that when I walked in. I just wasted 20 minutes filling that thing out.” When it was my turn, they asked standard questions from a paper and wrote down my answers. I knew I wouldn't get the job within minutes because the recruiter wasn't interested and just stared at me blankly. When I asked about the job, they gave me vague answers that didn't match the online description. They said they'd call in a few days if they were interested in another interview. Of course, they never called. The whole thing felt really disorganized and made me think the work environment would be bad.

I had interviews with HR, the Hiring Manager, and some Team Members. There were 4 interviews in total, which felt like too many. The whole process felt kind of disorganized and not well-put-together. The questions asked were all over the place, and the interviewers didn't seem to know much.
