The hiring process was pretty straightforward. A co-founder reached out to me by phone to set up an interview time. We chatted briefly about the company and the role, and then they passed me along to the contracting agency. The agency then arranged a Skype interview, which mostly went fine, though we did have some connection issues and a few dropped calls.

I applied online through Monster on a Sunday. The next morning, I got a call from someone who seemed to be at the top of the company, asking about a position in RI, even though the company is based in NC. She mentioned that the RI company needed someone immediately and asked if I was okay with a part-time role and a salary of $17-$19. I confirmed I was fine with those details. She then told me they had another candidate ready to start, but that person turned down the job upon learning it was part-time, which I found a bit strange, making me wonder if the hours were discussed earlier. She said she'd pass my resume to the interviewer and follow up with available times. I decided to re-read the job posting, noticing the stated salary was $14-$16. I emailed her to clarify the discrepancy. She explained she felt I was highly qualified and wanted me to get the best offer, so she submitted me at the higher rate. I found the whole interaction odd, suspecting it was a typical agency tactic to get me into their system for commission. I never heard back from her.

I wanted to mention that I never actually got to the interview stage because I never received the initial call. Jason Monastra, COO of UGT, contacted me on the 1st and expressed interest in discussing the Sales Admin position that day. We agreed to connect on the 5th around 1 PM CST. I made sure my schedule was free for the 15-minute slot, but the call never happened. I sent Jason an email to confirm the time and offered to reschedule, and he responded that he was tied up in a long meeting. He provided me with a Calendly link to arrange another time, and I booked it for today (the 7th) at 9:30 AM CST. I let him know the new time, but I didn't get any confirmation. It's now an hour past our scheduled time, and there's been no communication. As someone looking for a job, it's really unprofessional and upsetting when someone doesn't communicate any delays for a call. I did my homework on the company, and my skills seem to be a good match for their needs. I was eager to learn more about the role, but I'm feeling very disappointed and discouraged. Please improve in the future, perhaps start by having someone from HR reach out to candidates instead of an executive, who are typically very busy.
