First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at United Entertainment Group.
Program Management Vice President
It started with a phone screen, then 2 virtual interviews, and then 2 onsite interviews which included the company president. After that, the recruiter kept asking to hop on a call, but then they would miss it or not schedule it, and repeat this 8 times until they ghosted me. They still haven't rejected me, but I did get a survey from Edelman about my experience. It's tough to reject someone, but a simple email saying the team went another direction would have been fine. The constant chasing and 'keeping warm' really ruined what was a good candidate experience, especially for a senior leadership role. Ghosting at the end is not okay.
- What is your perspective on how responsibilities are divided between account and program management?
Project Management VP
I had a call with the talent acquisition team, and she said she'd follow up with next steps. I reached out the next week, and she told me she hadn't had a chance to align with the team yet but would be in touch. After another week with no update, I followed up again, and she said that several team members had been on vacation, but she would regroup with them the following week. Another week passed with no word, so I followed up again and got no response. I followed up once more the next week, but I was ghosted.
- Please introduce yourself.
- What are your ambitions for the next five years?
- Can you describe a project you have managed?
Accounts Executive
The interview process was great and the communication via email was awesome throughout. They followed up a lot and asked great questions. They really dug into my experience and what I could bring to the table and their current clientele.
- Can you share your experience in the media industry?
Director
I met with four different people for the interview. Two of them weren't on the direct team but people I might interact with occasionally. The other two were my potential lead and a person who would report to me. It was a bit strange because the lead and direct report didn't seem very interested in talking to me, but they had a new junior employee ask me questions. It felt more like a learning session for the junior staff than an actual interview for me. I sent thank you notes to everyone I spoke with. After two weeks, I followed up with HR and the interviewers, but no one responded. This company seems to waste people's time, isn't transparent, and uses candidates even before they're hired.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience?
- Walk me through your resume.
- Describe your leadership approach.
