First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at United Concordia.
Service Representative
So the whole interview took about 2 and a half hours. First, I had a chat with the HR Manager to make sure I was a good fit. Then, I did a computer-based skills test. It was like a pretend company program where I had to handle fake customer calls and answer multiple-choice questions about how to deal with their issues. After passing that, the HR Manager had me answer two essay questions to send to the hiring managers, which was to check my writing and communication skills. Then, the managers interviewed me in a conference room. It was a panel with two managers and the trainer. The questions were pretty simple, like asking about my previous jobs, what I liked, and what I'd change. That part didn't take too long. After the interview, they showed me around the call center. Everyone at United Concordia was really nice and professional, from the front desk to HR to the managers. It's a long process, but not hard.
- Thinking about your own experiences as a customer, how can you leverage that to improve your customer service abilities?
Digital Copywriter
So I had three interviews, one in person with the recruiter, and then two phone interviews with some mid-level managers. All three went super well, and every interviewer told me I was the top candidate and a perfect fit. The interviews were spaced out, like at least a month apart, sometimes more. Even though they kept saying all these good things, after dragging it out for like 6 months, they still didn't offer me the job and kept delaying. Meanwhile, I got another offer. When I told the recruiter about the other offer, they didn't seem to care and probably thought I was trying to rush them. I took the other offer, and never heard back from UCD. If a company struggles this much to decide, I'd avoid them.
- What's your comfort level with working remotely?
Applications Developer
I applied and interviewed once, but never heard back. I applied again about 4 months later and had a second interview. Both times the interviews felt like they went well and the interviewers were nice and asked some good questions, but they were mostly soft skills questions with very few technical ones. After the second interview, I got a job offer that was pretty bad. They expected developers to carry a pager for a week every two months and work mandatory weekends for deployments, which is not okay for the low salary they offered. I won't be applying there again.
- Why were two interviews necessary for the same role?
Product Manager
The interview process was very cordial and formal at their office. The most painful part was the security check in and check out procedure which was in another building. Two interviewers, who were senior PMs and leads, asked a variety of standard questions - to talk about myself and my career thus far, etc - and then went into very detailed PM related questions. Ended with answering all my questions. Lasted for about an hour.
- What is your methodology or process for updating project schedules?
