First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UNITE HERE HEALTH.
Systems Administrator
It started virtually, and then I was invited for an in-person interview by the recruiter. They asked standard 'what if' questions and how I would perform certain tasks. I didn't get feedback on why I wasn't offered the job, and it's still advertised months later.
- How would you create a Virtual Machine in VMWare?
Regional Director
I was approached by an executive search firm for this role. They were quite disorganized and communication was poor throughout. They never got back to me with feedback after the interviews. My first interview was with UHH HR. Then I had a 1:1 with the person I would report to. After that, I met with three other people. One of them mentioned that the 'would-be' boss was a micro-manager. I also learned from this interviewer that the previous person in this role left after only 8 months, which the search firm hadn't mentioned. A lot of red flags popped up, from the search firm to the UHH interviewers. Glad I didn't take it.
- Can you share some general behavioral examples?
- How would you handle specific situational questions?
- Could you speak Spanish on the spot?
Human Resources Business Partner
I submitted my resume and then got a call from an external recruiter who did a phone and Skype interview. After that, I spoke with an HR Director over the phone. About a month later, I had an in-person panel interview. It was a pretty extensive hiring process.
- Can you tell me about your experience with recruiting in a Healthcare (clinic or hospital setting) and under deadline pressures?
Human Resources Business Partner
The interview process is quite long with many people involved in making the final decision. They use the interview process as an introduction to what it's like to work there. The recruiter wasn't great about getting back to candidates with the right info and didn't seem to know key details about the company or the main aspects of the job that candidates need to know. First, there was a Skype interview with an outside recruiter. Then, a phone interview with the HR Director. After that, an in-person panel interview with the HR Director, Finance Manager, Admin Asst, and Marketing Director. Finally, another in-person panel interview with the Chief HR Officer, HR Director, Director of Nursing, Nursing Supervisor, VP Operations, and Director of Operations.
- Could you explain how we can address our nurse staffing shortages due to FMLA?
- Please prepare a presentation outlining your strategy for staffing our new facility.
- Illustrate your approach to recruiting nurses and other medical personnel.
