Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Uniqlo.
Sales Assistant
It was a face-to-face interview with 4 candidates sitting around, and we had to answer questions from the manager and assistant manager. We needed to show brand knowledge and passion for the brand. There were also interview questions like 'what is your biggest weakness'. The whole thing lasted about 30 minutes, and they told us the results the next day.
- Which Uniqlo product do you like the most?
- Could you tell me about your biggest weakness?
Sales Assistant
The overall experience was really good, the people I met were super nice, easy to talk to, and helpful the whole time. The HR folks did a great job giving us tons of useful info and clear directions before the interview, making it easy to get ready and feel ready. Plus, the hiring process is super fast and moves pretty quick, showing they're organised and professional about hiring.
- Can you share your past experience?
- What makes you a strong candidate for this role?
- Can you give an example of a time you delivered outstanding customer service?
Sales Assistant
I got a call from HR 8 days after applying. Although I applied to a different branch, I was invited to the HQ interview. On the interview day, I struggled to find the registration floor, and most of the store staff didn’t seem aware that a group interview was happening. I then realised I hadn’t explained myself clearly and had entered through the store by mistake. I was actually supposed to use the entrance from outside. Luckily, one kind staff member took time out of her busy schedule to guide me there. At the registration counter, I felt quite unsure and awkward looking at the registration tablet. I didn’t know whose name to select on the tablet as the person I was visiting and ended up asking questions that probably sounded silly. There wasn’t much guidance, so it was confusing. I initially thought I needed to select the name of the branch manager I applied to, but later realised I should have selected the HR person instead. After that, I was given a form to fill out indicating my availability for the position. The interview process included self-introductions (including why you want to work at Uniqlo), an overview by HR, a group discussion task, and a group interview with one of the branch managers. Although the interview started a bit later than scheduled, overall it was a valuable learning experience. We also received our interview results at the end of the day, which was impressively efficient. I hope this post helps anyone preparing for their first interview with Uniqlo.
- Could you share an instance where a customer's interaction impacted your feelings?
- What are your aspirations for working at Uniqlo?
