I applied online to Uniqlo for a new store opening. The very next day, I got an email from HR. The first interview was good, they asked basic questions like why I wanted to work for Uniqlo, what I could bring to the team, and my definition of a customer. They said they'd be in touch. About a week later, I got another email for a second interview. For the second interview, the same HR person met me, and two other HR members joined us. They were nice, and the interview was pleasant. They asked about my availability (needing to close two days a week and have open weekends), why they should hire me, and to tell them about myself. Even though the questions seem basic, be prepared and be direct. After the interview, they told me about a required drug screening I had to do within 48 hours. I did the screening the next morning, and a few hours later, I got an email congratulating me on the job offer and the orientation date. Remember to smile and stay positive!

The recruiter initiated contact, and after a phone interview, I was selected to move forward. Punctuality was emphasized, and interviews proceeded based on arrival order. We viewed company videos and attended a presentation. Subsequently, questions related to the video content were posed. In a group setting of about 40 people, interviews were conducted in groups of five. Questions focused on customer service and leadership. Following this, two individuals from each group of five were selected for the next stage, while others were dismissed. The next interview was with a Japanese expatriate with limited English proficiency. This stage included a math test and a repetition of the HR generalist's questions. The process concluded with us being escorted out. Arriving early is crucial. Maintaining a positive demeanor, paying close attention to videos and lectures (note-taking is advised), and displaying consistent positivity are recommended.

I applied online and got an email about a week later to come in for an interview. It was a walk-in interview between 12 and 6, so I went early. Four people interviewed me: two HR folks and the store and assistant manager. The interview questions were pretty straightforward, asking about my experience and my reasons for wanting to work at Uniqlo. I'd done my homework on the company, which the HR people appreciated. However, the two managers who would be supervising the store didn't contribute at all and barely even looked at me. One was on his phone most of the time, and the store manager even left mid-interview to take a call. I didn't get the job, which I'm fine with, as previous interviews I've had were with professional people who were all engaged. It's surprising, given their emphasis on hiring social people, that the two in charge of the store were the least social.
