First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Unipres.
Tool and Die Technician
You'll typically interview with the Die maintenance manager and two supervisors. Afterwards, expect a skills test, followed by a tour of the press shop. Don't let the large tooling intimidate you. Make sure to have some questions ready about SPM.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
Intern
The interview process was quite appropriate, concise, and accurate regarding the qualities needed for the requested vacancy. After being interviewed by HR, the interview continued with the department head for the requested vacancy, who ultimately decides if you are accepted for the position.
- Without your CV, how would you introduce yourself and make me interested in you?
Manufacturing Engineer
Applied through school career center. Got an email invite for an interview at the plant about 1 week later. On the interview day, waited in the lobby to be picked up by HR (Tony Gier). Waited in the conference room to fill out an application. You should bring your reference and work history and resume so you can fill them out easily. After that, got a tour of the plant. After the tour, talked to Jeff Long in the conference room, then talked to the engineering manager (forgot his name). No offer was made, but I did get a check for travel expenses, about $130. Didn't know I would get reimbursement.
- Can you tell me what you are currently working on?
- What is your understanding of Unipres?
- What are your career aspirations?
Manager
I had a 4-hour interview that included time with HR, Engineering, Quality, and a plant tour. Unfortunately, the interview started over 30 minutes late without any explanation. The managers and employees I was supposed to meet with weren't the actual interviewers. The plant tour felt like an afterthought and would have been more useful before the interviews, as we discussed many areas and processes during the interviews themselves. Also, two of the five interviewers hadn't seen my resume, so I had to provide copies during the interview.
- Are you someone who would manage from their desk or be out on the floor?
