First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UniGroup.
Software Engineer
The interview process started with a 30-minute call with the recruiter. Then, I had a 1-hour general interview with some of the team members. After that, there was a 1-hour technical interview with team members. Finally, I had a 45-minute final interview with the tech director.
- Could you tell me about your past work experience and how you've dealt with difficult situations?
- There were two coding challenges: first, to create a script for data manipulation, and second, to find and fix a bug.
Accountant
I got contacted by HR and scheduled an interview. First, I talked with the HR person, and then I met the direct manager for about 30-45 minutes. About two weeks later, I got a callback for the second round, which was with the senior department manager and the CFO. After another two weeks, I got an offer. Then I had to fill out some info in an online HR system and do a drug test. The whole thing was pretty straightforward.
- Tell me why you are interested in working at Unigroup and what your current career goals are. Also, what is your expected tenure with the company?
- Why Unigroup and what are your goals?
- How long do you see yourself staying here?
Intern
It was a pretty straightforward interview. It began with a phone call where they asked a few quick questions and gave me some information about the company. Then, they scheduled an in-person interview. This interview was simple; they asked about a time I assisted a customer. It was held in the cafeteria, which was a bit unusual but actually made me feel comfortable as a college student because it wasn't intimidating. After that, I got another call for an interview with the person who would be my trainer. The questions were similar, but this time they went into more detail about the job. It felt like I had the job during the interview. They mentioned it's a very fast-paced environment and can be stressful sometimes. (Once I started working there, it was a bit fast-paced, but as an intern, the tasks were manageable for someone new to a business setting). It was a fun atmosphere over the summer because there were many college interns.
- Can you share an instance where you assisted a customer?
- Describe a situation where you worked in a fast-paced setting.
Cargo Claims
I applied on the company website and then got a call to schedule a phone interview. After that call, they set me up with managers or supervisors. I interviewed with two managers for the Cargo Claims role. They were both pretty laid back. They were even wearing Blues apparel for the playoff games. I asked both of them what they liked best about working for UniGroup, and they both said the culture is great, super friendly, and easy to talk to.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Describe a challenging situation you faced and how you managed it.
- What's prompting your departure from your current role?
