I applied for a Senior Program Manager position and had a positive start to the interview process. The initial phone screening went smoothly, followed by an engaging conversation with the hiring manager that lasted twice as long as scheduled. This gave me the impression that there was genuine interest in my experience and alignment with the role. Three days later, I received confirmation for a panel interview scheduled a week out, along with a reminder the day before. However, just hours before the panel interview, I received a cancellation email stating that they had decided to go with another candidate. The message was polite but generic, with little explanation despite the investment of time on both sides. Overall, the lack of communication and abrupt cancellation so close to the interview was disappointing. I hope the company refines its process to provide more timely and considerate updates to candidates.

I was contacted by a recruiter/headhunter. The headhunter and UnidosUS seemed out of sync. The headhunter also didn't really know what the organization wanted even though they put me forward for a remote interview. The recruitment process seemed poor and disorganized. One of the staff members was engaged and polite. The other seemed bored during the interview. It didn't give a good impression of the organization.

I applied online with my resume and cover letter. A month and a half later, I got an email to fill out a really long and detailed application about my past jobs and education. A month after that, I had a phone interview that went well. Another month went by, and then I had an in-person interview. The in-person interview felt very structured and not conversational at all. Two managers asked questions back-to-back. One seemed irritated from the start, and it felt like they were trying to find reasons to reject me rather than focusing on my policy background, legislation experience, and work with underprivileged communities. The worst part was not getting any response after all the time I spent applying and preparing.
