After some basic questions about the office and my career path, I was sent a follow-up email. A few days later, I was asked to provide my banking details for future payments and proof of account. I didn't hear back for two weeks, and my emails went unanswered. I finally got a rejection notice three and a half weeks later.

About 4 weeks after I applied for an internship position, the HR director emailed me to set up a phone interview. The phone interview went okay; all questions were pretty standard, like 'tell me about yourself,' 'why do you want to work for US fund for UNICEF?', and 'tell me about your past internship experience.' It was about 15 minutes long. The next day, he emailed again saying the manager of the department I applied for wanted to interview me. After some back-and-forth emailing to schedule a time, we had a Skype interview (I'd rather have done it in person, but it was hard to set up because she was traveling). She asked similar questions but more detailed ones, such as 'What are your passions?', 'What are your weaknesses?', and 'How did you contribute when you worked at this organization?' The interview lasted about 20 minutes. Then, a few days later, I got offered the internship.
