Operations
I was contacted by Jan Slack on multiple occasions for opportunities at Unical. Even when she couldnt get a hold of me, she went above and beyond and made sure she got the right number by using my work references. That was the difference between ordinary HR Recruiter, and extra-ordinary. Jan orchestrated the interview process smoothly. I felt personable, comfortable, and relaxed. Prior to the day of, Jan made sure i have all the details and arranged the time that worked best for both parties. She followed up to make sure everyone is on the same page and things are inline. I dont think i've ever had a more enjoyable and successful interview process. My interview went as expected, no gimmicks, no hassle.

Sales Assistant
The interview process was pretty straightforward. Upon arriving, the office decor was impressive, complete with a saltwater aquarium in the waiting area. However, the initial interaction with the receptionist was a bit cold. I went in feeling optimistic, having enjoyed my prior conversations and research about the company. But unfortunately, the general vibe from everyone I met was notably unsmiling. The interview itself was unexpected; I was under the impression I'd be meeting with the recruiter, but instead, I faced a panel of three women who appeared completely uninterested. They were unwelcoming, and one interviewer seemed to struggle with English or wasn't paying attention, as she repeated questions I'd already answered. It felt more like an interrogation than a discussion, especially since she was just reading from a list. One panel member was particularly disengaged, just taking notes and not making eye contact. This overall lack of a positive reception made me doubt the company, and I'm hesitant to accept any potential offer. An interview is a two-way street, and their impression was not a good one.

IT
The interview process seemed okay at first and they extended an offer for immediate start, prompting me to cancel a planned vacation. However, I was later let go after only 6 weeks. I suspect they might have needed temporary staff. The salary offered was extremely low, less than half of what I currently earn. I was drawn to the aviation business, but it turned out to be essentially a junkyard for airplane parts, similar to a 'Pick a Part' but for planes. The facility's decor was interesting, but no one seemed to use the nice furniture, gym, or patio, possibly due to fear. A significant issue was the lack of Wi-Fi, forcing all employees onto desktops and prohibiting remote work, even within the facility, creating an 80s-like environment. Employees worked closely together at open tables, resembling an Indonesian garment factory, minus the sewing machines. They did have a good espresso machine, though.

Recruiting Assistant
So I had to do an application and then an online skills assessment thing. After that, I got scheduled for an interview. Honestly, the interview was the worst I've experienced with all the companies I applied to. One of the interviewers was super unpleasant and really rude. It seemed like they hadn't even looked at my resume beforehand and just asked random questions about my past jobs. They didn't ask anything about my actual skills or qualifications.
- How much experience do you have with managing a high volume of requisitions?
- Could you share your experience from previous companies?
- What are your relevant skills and qualifications?
