First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UNC School of Medicine.
Registered Dietitian
The company took months to get back to me after I applied. The interview itself was 30 minutes long and I didn't get a chance to ask any questions. I also wasn't informed about what happens next and didn't hear back at all.
- I was asked an unusual question about a supposed typo on my resume, which was not actually a typo.
Clinical Research Coordinator
I applied through the UNC website and then got an email for a quick phone call. After that, I had an in-person meeting with the person who would be my direct supervisor and some other people I'd be working with. Then, a language test was set up with Hospital Services where I had to translate medical sentences from English to Spanish.
- Can you explain how your previous experiences align with the requirements of this position?
Postdoctoral Research Associate
I reached out to the Principal Investigator (PI) by email, attaching my cover letter, CV, and a statement on my suitability for the role. The PI then proposed a Skype meeting where I was asked to present my recent work. Following the presentation, the PI contacted me again to request reference letters. I had my references submit their letters directly to the PI, after which I received an offer, which I accepted and commenced my employment.
- Can you discuss some technical aspects relevant to this position?
- What are your future career aspirations?
Research Assistant
I reached out to the department myself to express my interest. The next day, the Research Coordinator emailed me to set up a call. I had a short interview, and then I met with her in person. Interview processes can vary by department.
- What draws you to clinical psychology?
