I interviewed for graduate school online. It was pretty simple. The hardest part was taking the GRE. Everything else was just like I thought it would be. Nothing unexpected happened.

First, I sent in my online application with a cover letter. The application also had a short essay question. Then, I had a phone interview where they asked about why I wanted the job, what I thought my main tasks would be, my qualifications, why UNC Charlotte, and what I hoped to gain from the role. After that, it was an in-person interview that lasted about four hours. It started with a 50-minute 1:1 chat, followed immediately by a 3:1 interview for an hour. After a short break, the format repeated with another 3:1 and then another 1:1, each lasting 45 minutes to an hour.
