It was a three part interview. First they checked my lab experience, then references. I spoke with the general manager, then the management team, and finally some potential colleagues.

I had a virtual interview and the environment was welcoming. The interviewers made me feel comfortable, which was nice. I also had the chance to interview them to understand the department's culture.

I applied in May 2015 and got an email in August to set up a phone interview, which I had at the end of August. Then I was invited for a panel interview in November. By the end of November, I was offered the position and told it would start in January. Come January, I was informed they were facing issues with HR and my background check. At the end of January, heading into February, they mentioned financing problems for the position. Finally, at the end of April, I received an official email stating the job was canceled. Definitely don't recommend UNC Chapel Hill.
