I got an email from the PI to set up an in-person interview. The interview was with the PI and a grad student. It seemed fine, but they didn't look at my resume. My experience was a perfect match for the job ad, but the actual job requirements were different. So I wasn't a good fit. I wish they had reviewed my resume or done a phone call to avoid my 4-hour drive.

The facility seemed a bit dated. I met with the Principal Investigator (PI) and had a really good conversation with him about his research, my background, and what I'm hoping to achieve. Following that, I spoke with two other PhD researchers who are currently working in that lab. It seemed to go well, but ultimately, they decided to go with a different candidate.
