The interview process was straightforward, starting with a Zoom call with the manager and PI. Afterwards, I visited the site for a second interview where I met the team and toured the facility. I was in touch with the hiring manager and administration throughout the entire hiring process.

Behavioral Presentation

We hire mainly through the UMass HR website. You'll get an email with an interview invite. Some PIs do a phone interview first, others prefer an in-person. To be fair, we ask everyone the same questions. Everyone involved in hiring fills out an evaluation form after the interview. The person with the best score gets the job.

I was surprised that she asked me a few math-related questions that related to making solutions and other lab-related tasks. the next round was a full day of in-person meetings with people from the lab as well as other labs within the department.
