First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UltraTech Cement.
Internship
First, there was a group discussion (GD) round which was an elimination round. After that, I had an interview round which was pretty seamless. They asked me questions about my CV, my strengths and weaknesses related to the role, why I wanted this role, and if I was flexible for remote locations. They also asked about my specialization choice and the reasoning behind it.
- Given your IT consulting background, how would you contribute to a P&L-manufacturing role?
- Can you tell me about your CV?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses in relation to this role?
Intern
So, the interview for the UltraTech Young Leaders Program (UYLP) had two main parts — first, a Group Discussion (GD), and then a Personal Interview (PI). For the GD, they looked at how clearly I thought, how well I communicated, if I worked well with others, and if I could organize my thoughts logically when I was in a rush. The topic was something current, and it was a chance to show I could think analytically and knew about industry and economic stuff. If you did well in that, you got to the Personal Interview. The panel there checked out how I solved problems, my leadership skills, and if I seemed like a good fit for UltraTech's values.
- Can you tell us about your academic background?
- What's your take on the cement industry?
- Any general HR questions you'd like to ask?
Intern
It was a paid internship where I was asked many domain-related questions. There were 2 interviewers who were in high positions. The interview lasted more than an hour. Since my field was civil engineering, the questions were specific to civil engineering.
- Could you answer questions related to the civil engineering domain?
