Don't be fooled--this is an essay mill where college students buy essays. They are looking for people who write at an undergraduate level. If you are a college student then you can probably get this job. No, it's not ethical; yes, it's technically legal. This is an essay mill that sells papers to college students, presented as a freelance writing gig. Newspeak. A spade is a spade. As for the interview process, it all happens in one day: You submit an application via Indeed profile. They don't accept resumes. They respond asking you to write a sample paper, which if you're proficient at writing you can bang out in an hour.
- Can you write a two-page sample paper on available technologies for homeowners to conserve energy, using two outside sources?
- Please ensure the paper includes a title, page numbers, and a citations page, formatted using MLA, double-spaced with 12pt Times New Roman font.
- Save the paper as a Microsoft Word document with your first and last name as the filename, ensuring it's a research paper, not a first-person essay.

The interview process was longer than I thought, but it showed me they were serious and the job was legit (since I found it on Craigslist, I was a little worried). First, I submitted my resume. Then, I had to write a three-page paper about why music is important in childhood education. They really liked my paper and said it was written perfectly. After that, I had a phone interview, which I passed. Then, they sent me a bunch of files about company policy, how the website works, and what they expected from writers. I also had to take little quizzes to check my comprehension after reading each file. Once I finished that, I was officially hired and ready to start working.
- Can you work well on your own?

The whole interview process took about seven minutes. They asked me a few questions, and then the interviewer told me a lot about Ultius and their mission. You need to schedule the interview yourself using an editable Gmail calendar. It's super important to pick a time that works with your timezone. After that, you wait for a call from their headquarters in Nevada. If they like you and you pass the interview, you have to fill out a W9 form because it's for independent contractors. Then, you need to pass four module tests. Don't worry, the tests are pretty easy if you read the material for about ten minutes per test. Three of the tests have eleven questions, and one has about fifteen questions. This interview is pretty straightforward if you study the questions I'll list below.
