Sales Assistant
The interview process included a telephone interview followed by an online interview. During the online interview, they will ask you questions about your experience and your motivation to join the company. The interviewers are very approachable, but it's crucial to have a deep understanding of the role and the company's values. Be prepared to discuss your career aspirations for the next five years.

Admissions Representative
I applied for the Admissions Representative job and got an email the same day about the next steps, including finishing an assessment and sending a screenshot of my internet speeds. After I did that, I was asked to do a 10-15 minute pre-screen video interview. I set it up, but the talent acquisition specialist called me the same day and said she had to reschedule because she forgot to block off times. So I rescheduled, and later that day, I waited for the interview she requested, but she never showed up. After 10 minutes, she called and said her Teams wasn't working and she might need to call IT, asking to reschedule AGAIN. I agreed. The third time I logged into Teams for the interview, she was 5 minutes late. I understand things happen, but I really value punctuality, and it's not okay for the interviewer to be late, especially after rescheduling twice and messing with my schedule. Also, I noticed how the interviewer presented themselves. We were told to dress professionally, so I think the interviewer should too. The pre-screen interview was basically them wanting to know me, why I applied to UMA, and why I think it's a good fit. The first part was okay until she asked me what I'd do to get a student engaged if they seemed uninterested and dismissive on the phone. I answered, but she didn't seem to think my answer was good enough, so she asked the same question again. I rephrased, but it still wasn't good enough. She kept asking variations of the question, and I felt completely thrown off. It became clear that this role is basically a sales job, looking for someone very persistent and intrusive to meet enrollment numbers. She mentioned it's a metrics-driven role with about 300 outbound calls a day. She was overbearing, and I felt pressured, which has never happened to me before. I knew right then that this wasn't a place I wanted to work, and she wasn't interested in me either. Also, she didn't seem to want to answer my questions about training and the remote culture, which was embarrassing. It was the worst interview I've ever had, and it was just a pre-screening.
- What would you do to engage a student who seems uninterested in enrolling during your phone call?
- How would you approach engaging a student who appears uninterested and dismissive during a phone call about enrolling?
Admissions Representative
The process was two steps. First, an interview with HR. Next, an interview with a manager from admissions. You'll be asked about your education and customer service experience, and given scenarios. You'll find out if you're hired the same day via email. Your recruiter will give you tips to pass, and if you're professional and give good answers, you should do great.
- How can I connect with students?
Finance Advisor
The interview process started with a phone call with a recruiter. They went over my resume and the job responsibilities, and also gave me some tips for the next stage of the interview process. After that, I had a call with someone higher up. They asked me STAR method questions and wanted to know about the day-to-day aspects of the job.
- Tell me about a time you had to deal with unexpected change and how you managed it.
