The interview process felt a bit challenging initially, but I focused on staying composed and giving it my best shot. The interviewers were quite pleasant, patient, and supportive, which really helped me feel more at ease. All in all, it was a good experience, and I found the team to be very professional and welcoming.

I interviewed with UKPN for a senior manager role. I had prepared a PowerPoint presentation on managing intelligent network technologies for data acquisition. During the presentation, I noticed one panellist, a senior engineer, seemed disengaged. I tried to encourage collaboration, but I felt he perceived me as a threat rather than focusing on team goals. I'd read about the project management versus engineering dynamic and was interviewing for a project management position. Despite my diplomatic approach, he remained unresponsive to motivation or inspiration, and didn't seem confident or empowered in engaging with others. He came across as more of a 'fitter' type, lacking strategic or tactical thinking. We were left alone briefly, and I attempted a conversation, but he showed no inclination to see the bigger picture, adapt, improve, or make effective decisions; he was quite negative. The other panellist was very interactive and open. It's puzzling why someone like that would be on a panel meant for impartial strategic assessment. Nevertheless, this was my UKPN interview experience.

I applied online and got an in-person interview date within two weeks. It was a single stage interview. There were two interviewers, and one of them used to be an engineer. Everyone communicated well, and the recruiter answered all my questions before the interview.
