My interview process had a few steps. First, a quick check, then an interview about my background and what I'm qualified for. After that, there was a practical skills test, and finally, I talked with some senior people. It was a pretty organized process that looked at whether I could do the job and if I'd fit in.

Presentation

For the UJA interview, I had to do a creative assignment. It was about making some short videos and writing copy for them. This was to show I can tell stories and communicate well. It helped me understand the company's style and what they expect, and I got to show what I can do as a content creator.

It was a short conversation with HR. Things were complicated because I had a fellowship with UJA. They ultimately said I wasn't the right fit because they wanted someone who could connect with 'legacy givers,' meaning they sought someone with a wealthy background and ties to NY elite society. It was obvious that not having the right pedigree put you at a significant disadvantage.

It was a good technical interview with some personality questions too, focusing on collaboration and how I'd interact with colleagues on my team and other teams. The interview was challenging but fair, without any tricky gotcha questions. It wasn't too stressful.
