In person interview - they asked a few questions about myself and some hypothetical questions about customer service and how I would handle issues that come up. They also asked if I had work study. I didn't, but they hired me anyway.

I applied online through GauchoLink and got a response about two weeks later. I went in for an interview, and after about two days, I was hired for an administrative student assistant role in the Office of Admissions. Since I didn't have prior work experience, I talked a lot about my volunteer activities. The interview was with two friendly people, which made it feel pretty relaxed. They explained the job and asked me questions about how I would handle the responsibilities.

I got an email saying that SeaSketch at McClintock lab at UCSB is hiring undergraduate interns. So I emailed the director, and he replied quickly asking if I have taken GIS series and python class. I told them in the email that I had taken those classes, so they scheduled an interview in the next day. The interview is quite straightforward.
