Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UC Irvine.
Lab Technician
The interview experience was awkward. The hiring manager spoke negatively about my current company and was disrespectful to other leaders. They also mentioned a probation period and stated they wouldn't hesitate to fire people, which gave me a bad feeling, so I decided not to continue with the hiring process.
- Can you describe your experiences and duties in your current role?
Lab Technician
It was a one-on-one interview, in person. The person interviewing me was dressed casually and was pretty open about what they expected for the role. It went on for a while, about half an hour. They weren't mean or anything, but they were definitely not warm during the interview.
- What are your thoughts on euthanizing animals?
Computer Technician
It was a quick and easy interview. It was panel-based, so expect 2-3 members of upper management to interview you. Make sure to bring your resume, they'll ask about basic IT topics like removing viruses, fixing screens, and more. We also discussed pay and hours.
- Could you describe the process of replacing a Logic Board on a MacBook Pro?
