Super nice people here. I had to do an in person coding interview and then explain my code. There were also some extra whiteboard problems. Overall, a really good experience and I do recommend applying.

I sent my resume and cover letter straight to the hiring manager, so he was my first contact at the University. He was super nice and flexible in scheduling the interview. We met outside for the interview. He had questions written down, but he really pushed me, so it wasn't a typical interview. He asked some smart questions. After that, he gave me a verbal offer. But then, his boss wanted to interview me too. Scheduling that second interview was tough, and it ended up being in June, even though the first was in May. When we finally talked, she was nice, but the interview was really short, under 30 minutes. The office was tidy, but the workspaces felt a bit cramped with 2 to 3 people sharing each area in the student programming offices.

I applied through the recruiter and had an interview at UC Irvine in May 2016. It included a phone screen and a one-hour in-person interview with a panel of three members. The interview questions were fairly basic.
