Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UC Irvine.
Assistant Director
I had a zoom interview that lasted 30 minutes with a panel. The panel was made up of people from the department and institution. They asked me questions and I also had time to ask them questions.
- Can you share an instance of how you've managed conflict?
Director
The process was pretty straightforward and organized, involving several different people. I got the schedule ahead of time and they stuck to it. Getting from parking to the office was easy. One interviewer was really good, but two were just okay, though nice.
- What makes you want to join our company?
- What unique value do you believe you can bring to our organization?
- Could you share an experience of working with a challenging colleague?
Assistant Director
The first step was a phone screen. Then, I had an in-person final round where I met with three interviewers. After that, I had a coffee chat with someone else on the team.
- What's your approach when a student is feeling stressed?
