Just two interviews, which was nice and easy compared to industry jobs. First with the hiring manager and another person on the leadership team, and then with the PI who is in charge of the whole research team.

Behavioral Presentation

I got a request for an interview 2-3 days after applying for the Part-Time Online Course Content Designer – User Experience Design role. The first interview was on-site with the department manager. It was pretty chill, and they listened well. I was a bit confused though because the job title mentioned UX developer, but the interview focused on my teaching experience. It seemed like they wanted a teacher more than a UX developer, and I felt a disconnect between their needs and my skills. I never heard back about the outcome.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was a comprehensive and multi-stage journey. It began with the submission of my online application, after which I was shortlisted for an initial screening interview. During this phase, the interviewer assessed my qualifications, experience, and overall fit for the role. Upon successfully passing the initial screening, I advanced to the subsequent rounds of interviews. These rounds involved more in-depth discussions, both in-person and via video calls, with various team members and senior executives. These conversations delved into my technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and how well I could collaborate within a team. Furthermore, there were assessments that evaluated my practical skills related to the job requirements. This rigorous evaluation allowed the company to thoroughly gauge my capabilities and suitability for the position. After successfully navigating these interviews, I received a job offer, which was followed by the onboarding process. The entire experience not only tested my professional qualifications but also provided valuable insights into the company's culture and expectations. Each stage was thoughtfully designed to ensure that the candidates selected were not only skilled but also aligned with the company's values and vision.
