The interview was really brief. It was a phone interview where they asked some relevant questions and some weird personality questions. They barely gave any feedback after I answered. It felt more like filling out a form than a conversation.

I applied online when the deadline was close for the summer internship, and got an email for an interview 4 weeks later. I scheduled an interview in-office for the following week. The internship coordinator seemed pretty relaxed, sometimes looking at their phone, and asked me behavioral questions and why I was interested in working there. I requested an expedited response since I had another offer on the table, and they gave me a decision in 4 days. It didn't seem super competitive then, but the intern coordinator later mentioned the acceptance rate is around 15%.

The interview process was pretty chill and not stressful at all. It's pretty easy if you're already following politics and know Senator Gillibrand's stances on different bills. Obviously, the office is pretty progressive, so maybe keep that in mind if you're more conservative and just looking to get some experience. For me, since I lean left, it wasn't an issue, but it's something to think about.
