It was a friendly, hour-long, direct interview with three interviewers. I received a lot of information up front about the job at the beginning, and answered maybe 15 questions. After, I was able to ask questions and discuss anything with the interviewers. They were very welcoming of any questions and honest about the environment. A few weeks later, I got an offer.

I put in my application online back in October. I got called for an interview in November, and then got the offer the very next week. The interview was with the Field Office's Supervisory Investigator and a Background Investigator. It went on for about 1.5 hours. We went over my resume in detail and I had to answer about 20 questions about how I'd deal with different problems. To wrap things up, I had a 10-minute writing assignment about why I'm right for the job.

I interviewed with a 3-person panel who asked the typical 'what would you do' and 'tell me a time' questions. My panel included my potential future boss and two people more senior than them. They were thorough and expected clear, concise answers. The interview really showed my ability to articulate and socialize well, which is key for an investigator. It ended with a surprise writing assignment with a 15-minute time limit, to see how I handle information under pressure and my management skills.
