Program Manager
I had two interviews for this program manager role, and they both went pretty well. I felt like I had a solid chance at getting an offer, though I would have understood if they went with someone else since it's a competitive position and I wasn't as technical as they might have wanted. It's been a month since my last interview, and even though I've followed up a few times, I've been ghosted. Honestly, I wouldn't be leaving this review if they had just had the courtesy to let me know I wasn't selected. The job market is crazy right now, and employers shouldn't be treating candidates this way.
- Can you describe your experience working with high-level government stakeholders?
Marketing
The interviews with the employees were fine, but the recruiter was a mess. Even giving him the benefit of the doubt, he repeatedly did poorly. For the first call, he was 30 minutes late and only asked if I worked in the area, not seeming to care about my responses. Every time I gave my availability, he scheduled the interview outside those times. He also called me by the wrong name and sent another candidate's resume to the interviewer before my interview. I was not impressed at all and it did not give me a good impression of the company or make me want to work there.
- Are you in the local area?
Guide
The first interview was a screen with another Guide. They asked basic questions about my qualifications and then I got to ask questions about what it's like to work for Chief. The second interview was with 2 people from Corporate and it was with 3 other applicants.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
- What is your experience like working for Chief?
Software Developer
It was short, three interviews and one live coding exercise. They were just starting to interview engineers to scale and hadn't really thought of good questions for backend engineers. The interview was fun and very casual.
- Could you build an API endpoint using Express?
