First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Typhoon HIL.
Applications Engineer
The interview was pretty relaxed. The interviewer was nice and mainly asked about my past work and then wrapped up with some questions on electrical basics like capacitors, inductors, and resistors.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- What relevant experience do you have for this position?
- Can you explain how capacitors work?
PhD Student
It was a pretty standard interview process. They asked me some standard questions about why I was interested in the research and what my previous research experience was. All in all, it was a good and easy interview. The interviewers were nice.
- Why are you interested in this research position?
Software Engineer
I put my application in through a job board, and then an HR person emailed me to set up a time for an interview. A few people from the team were there for the interview. The whole thing was less than an hour. They told me some stuff about the company and what they work on. Then we talked about my past experience, how I work, what tools I use, and what I know about them. After that, there was a personality test and a quick chat with HR.
- Tell me about your understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
- Can you explain some common design patterns?
- Describe your previous work experiences.
Software Engineer
I found the job opening on the company website and applied via email. After that, they reached out for a conversation. It was a bit of a mixed group, with about 5 or 6 people who would be my future colleagues. We all chatted in a laid-back setting, and they asked a mix of technical and personal questions.
- Can you explain your motivation for joining us, especially since your past experience isn't directly aligned?
- Why do you want to join our company?
