Principal Product Designer
The interview process was split into different rounds: recruiter call, design manager call, meeting the PM from the team I was applying for and meeting some members of the design team. The interviews were really casual and felt like conversations with colleagues, talking through their current challenges and how I would help to solve them. It was a great experience and helped me to get a feeling what it must be like working with them. I appreciated that there was no homework step, but rather me presenting some examples of my previous work to talk about how I approach the design process.
- How would you approach a given design problem and what's your process?
- How do you work with Product Managers?
- What aspects of the design process do you find most rewarding, and could you explain why?
Product Designer
The interview process had around 5 stages and went on for about a month. With every interview, I learned more about the company, the teams, the specific team and department I might join, and the general company vibe. It was a pretty standard process for a tech company and super well organized. They communicated really well and fast.
- Can you discuss your past projects?
- What difficulties have you encountered previously and how did you resolve them?
- Could you explain your approach to design methodology?
Product Designer
After applying online, I had my first HR interview. Then, I interviewed with the Design Lead. The final stage was a presentation of my work to the team. The HR was really human and did a fantastic job interacting with applicants, showing that the company culture is one of the best I've seen in tech.
- What are your thoughts on information architecture from a technical standpoint?
