I interviewed for a Data Scientist position and had a few interviews, but Typeform didn't have final stages planned beyond those. They ghosted me for a few weeks, and then I got feedback that they chose someone else. Less than two weeks later, two recruitment agents contacted me on LinkedIn for a role there, likely on their first day with Typeform as a client, and they were surprised I had already interviewed for it. I appreciate there was uncertainty with COVID-19 in Spain, but why the dishonesty about filling the role? In an interview, I was told they don't do machine learning at Typeform, which is funny given they have an ML engineering team and an ML head. Months after I interviewed, they still have the same Data Scientist vacancies listed. It seems like they aren't seriously hiring or are doing talent pipelining. It was a disappointing experience; I've heard great things about the culture from a former employee, but the process was really poor.

I had two sessions with the team, one with the team lead, which was semi-technical. Then a cultural fit interview with HR. In my case, it was different because I was interviewed to be an intern.

It started with an HR interview, then a Codility test covering SQL and Python/R. After that, I had a Team Lead interview to discuss qualifications and the role. Next, there was a presentation where I showed a project to future teammates and the Team Lead, covering both business and technical aspects. Then, I interviewed with the Department Director for cultural fit and soft skills. The process also involved getting three referrals from ex-managers before the final decision was made and an offer was extended. HR kept in touch throughout, providing feedback after each stage.

  • Can you demonstrate your coding skills by solving a problem involving lists or strings?
  • Describe a project or experience that you found unfavorable.
