First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Tyler Technologies.
Product Analyst
I applied online and heard back the next day to set up a phone chat. That call was pretty bad though, the recruiter was really not nice and didn't ask me anything about what I can do or my past jobs. All she cared about were two small gaps in my work history (one was because of the pandemic!). It felt like she was trying to find a reason to not move forward with me from the start. The whole vibe and her questions were negative. I figured I wouldn't get the job after we hung up, and yep, got an email a week later saying I didn't make it.
- Could you explain why you weren't working during the 2020 global pandemic, especially after being laid off because the business closed?
Product Analyst Intern
First, I had a call with HR. Then, I had a panel interview over zoom with 3 people. They asked normal interview questions and I got to ask them questions too.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
Product Analyst
I applied for the Product Analyst Intern job on the Courts and Justice team. The interview process was smooth and straightforward with responsive recruiters. However, the product team was bad at decision-making and communication. I was kept in an email chain for months saying my application was still under consideration and I should let them know if I was pursuing other opportunities so they could 'work around that.' This made me think I was a serious candidate. But, someone who applied after me got an offer that was declined. It was confusing why I wasn't updated. Instead of telling me they moved on with someone else, I was left waiting from November 2025 to February 2026, when I got a rejection. The role kept getting reposted during that time, which was frustrating. A clear decision, even a rejection, would have been more professional. I'd hesitate to work with a team that can't meet deadlines or make timely decisions because it would kill my morale and make me okay with mediocrity. Candidates deserve transparency, accountability, and follow-through.
