First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TxDOT.
Software Engineer Intern
I had a virtual interview with txdot after speaking with them at a career fair. They're pretty easy to talk to. They explained what the internship involves and the types of projects you'd be working on.
- So, tell me about yourself.
- What does txdot do?
- Can you share an experience from school or work where you had to collaborate in a group and describe how you managed that?
Software Engineer
The questions were all aligned with the job description. They inquired about my previous project experiences and asked about my strengths and weaknesses. The interview progressed from basic to more challenging questions.
- Can you describe the architecture of your previous projects?
- Tell me about your experience on past projects.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Software Engineer
I sent in my application online and then I got a phone interview a couple weeks later. The first interview was a pretty standard interview with mostly background questions. I had one hour to answer the 7 questions they asked me. Also, if there was time left, you could go back to a question and add to your answer.
- Can you detail the computer programs you're familiar with?
- Tell me about your senior Capstone project.
