Software Engineer
So, first they looked at my application to see if I was a good fit, which felt pretty thorough but quick, like they really wanted the right person. Then, a recruiter called me for a 30-minute chat about what I liked about the job and company. They said they'd get back in 48 hours and actually did, which was cool. After that, I talked to the hiring manager for about 45 minutes. They gave me a better idea of the team and the job, and I got to ask questions. Because it's a technical role, I had to do a mini project to show off my skills, which felt practical. Then came the team interviews, which took a couple of days and about 4 hours total. I met a bunch of people, including someone called a Bar Raiser, who's like a company values person. It was a good way to see if the team culture and my values meshed. Finally, they let me know their decision and offered me a competitive offer. They also mentioned they keep people in mind for future roles and offer job search help if it didn't work out.

So, the whole process had 4 rounds. First was a coding round focusing on data structures, then a low-level design for a Twilio equivalent. The third round involved HLD and talking about my past projects. Lastly, I had a chat with the Hiring Manager for intros and some behavioral questions about my previous work, followed by a deep dive into the Twilio system. Overall, it went pretty smoothly, and the interviewers really knew their stuff when it came to engineering fundamentals.

- Design a system that is equivalent to Twilio, focusing on low-level design.
- Discuss the high-level design of a system and assess my previous work experience.
Software Engineer
First, a recruiter call, pretty standard, didn't need to go over my resume again. Then, a HackerRank tech test with 2-3 problems. After that, another recruiter call to explain what's next. Then the main tech part: a system design question where you have to list your tech choices and justify them, followed by a live coding task like the one in step 2. Lastly, a hiring manager interview with 3 behavioral questions. They finished with a feedback call. A heads up, almost everyone was late for the tech part interviews and their setups were bad, making it hard to see them. Overall, okay, but expected better professionalism.
