I was contacted via email for an in-person interview for a Project Engineer role, which is what I applied for. No initial phone screen happened, which was a bit of a red flag. The first interview felt like an interrogation and I didn't even get to ask questions at the end. Surprisingly, they invited me for a second interview, only for me to discover I was being considered for a Pre-Construction position, not the one I applied for! This whole experience cost me two days off work and felt really unprofessional. I would have turned down any offer.

After the initial phone screen, I went in for an in-person interview. Unfortunately, one of the three interviewers had to leave about 10 minutes into the meeting. They mentioned they needed someone to work around 45-50 hours weekly, be available 24/7 for any after-hours problems, and handle about 15-20 calls daily while supporting 170 users with tier 1 issues. I also learned that the last two people who held this job had already left. It took them two weeks to get back to me after the interview, despite me sending several emails and leaving voicemails, and they finally emailed to say they were moving forward with other candidates.

I applied at the beginning of January and started working by the end of January. My interview experience was nice. I only had two interviews and then was offered the position and started a week later. I also enjoyed HR reaching out to me via email so then I could have written proof of what the date/time of my interview was.
