First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TVA.
Computer Science Intern
I was called into a conference room with three interviewers. They mostly asked behavioral questions. After that, we had a really deep dive into my resume, my past experiences, my technical abilities, and what I'd done on projects.
- Can you tell me about a time you handled a conflict situation?
Contract Manager
I had a panel interview with 6 members who took turns asking me questions about my previous experience. They asked standard questions about my background, education, leadership skills, and software experience. The interview was forty-five minutes long and finished with me explaining my interest in the role.
- How do you handle situations where you have multiple projects competing for your attention?
Investigator
So, the whole process was like this: first there was an interview, then you had to do this assessment questionnaire and a physical agility thing, and then there was this panel 2 interview. Then it repeated: interview, assessment questionnaire, physical agility, and panel 2 interview. And then it happened one more time: interview, assessment questionnaire, physical agility, and panel 2 interview.
- What made me the best candidate for this position?
Consultant
The interviews were pretty straightforward. First, there was a general HR screening call, then a panel interview with some leaders, and the last step was a case study presentation with the hiring manager. They gave me some mock information and asked me to come up with strategic recommendations. They use scheduling software which made setting up interviews easy, and they communicated consistently throughout.
- Describe a situation where you had to manage conflicting priorities on a project and explain how you communicated your strategy to those involved.
