Tutor
The interview process at Tutor.com was straightforward. First, I had to complete at least one subject exam that was on demand, which took me a few days. Once I passed, the rest of the process was smooth and simple, including setting up my profile and waiting for approval to start working.
- Can you tell me about your soft skills and past experience?

The interview was straightforward. It was a video call where we chatted about why I was interested in tutoring and what aspects of education I liked. They also asked about my favorite subject.
- What makes you want to be an educator?
- What aspects of education do you enjoy?
- Which subject has been your favorite?

The interview process started off pretty impersonal. I had to download their software and use this old-looking app for a text chat. I wasn't sure if I was talking to a bot at first since there was no camera. It later turned into an audio interview where they asked about my motivation for tutoring there, my prior experience, and a hypothetical situation about helping a student outline procedures. The question itself was strange, but I answered it. I was unimpressed with the limited screen share and the terrible whiteboard. Since I couldn't contact students directly and the job required having the app open with no guaranteed student inquiries, I decided it wasn't a good fit and withdrew my application the next day.
- Can you explain why you are interested in tutoring at this institution?
- Suppose a student needs assistance writing the steps for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, how would you guide them through it?
- Could you share some information about yourself?
