The first phone screening was pretty basic and straightforward. Then, I had a chat with a Senior Designer who came across as arrogant and a bit rude. The questions felt more like personal inquiries than skill-based ones. I checked their career paths, and honestly, their work wasn't more impressive than mine, especially the last person I spoke with. They seemed more focused on my motivation for joining than my actual skills. It seems like having a low ego is crucial here.

Behavioral Presentation

I went through 4 rounds of interviews. First, I had a recruiter call, then spoke with the hiring manager. After that, I did a portfolio walkthrough. The final round was a panel interview/onsite where I met with a researcher, engineering manager, lead PM, and the SVP of Design. They gave me feedback on my work and were upfront about areas for improvement. It meant a lot that they still offered me the role because it showed they saw potential in me.

Presentation Behavioral Technical

The interview process was pretty straightforward: a phone screen with a Director of Design and then a half-day onsite. The recruiters were great and really understanding about my time and travel for the onsite, patiently working with me to find a slot. Onsite, I did an hour presentation of past projects. Then, I had 1:1s with a PM, engineer, researcher, and two design directors. I was super impressed by how smart and driven the team was. They were easy to chat with and made me feel comfortable. Honestly, it felt more like conversations than an interview, which is why I accepted!
